It's connected by USB....

Would an APC Back UPS XS 1500 work with Vista 32 bit?
If the UPS uses Multilink 1.5 or 3.5 then that software will not run under Vista. However if your UPS has a USB connector Vista has its own built in software. With the UPS connected by USB you should have an item Batteries in the Device Manager. Opened it should say HID UPS Battery. Make sure the device usage is set to Use this device (enable) Now in Hardware and Sound open the Power Options. Open Power saver Change plane settings. Click Change advanced power settings Open Sleep and set Hibernate after On battery to 1 Minute. Having saved the settings pull the plug and see if your machine Hibernates successfully. Don’t touch the mouse or keyboard until the power light goes out. If it works you can set Hibernate after On battery to a longer time if you wish.
